Request: Saying Goodbye to Centurion Bochra

Anonymous said: Can you please do something with Bochra asking a human he’s fallen in love with to go back to Romulus but they can’t go, (cause humans technically don’t have very many rights on Romulus) so they say goodbye and they part for good. With only hope that they will meet again.

Author’s note: I know very little about this character, so I hope it’s alright!

ALL REQUESTS ARE OPEN!

You would remember him like this. Against a background of glittering stars, his black hair blending into the void of space, and his dark eyes looking into yours with such a passion that they would have made someone weaker shrink back. But not you.

“I joined this interspecies exchange conference after my life was saved by a human,” he said. “Before then, I was taught to think of humans as cowardly and weak. I never expected that I would befriend the human who saved me.”

He reached out his hands, cradling your face between them as if it was a precious treasure.

“I never expected to fall in love with a human.”

Your heart leapt at his words. Love. That was certainly it, even though neither of you had said it before. Despite the exchange being so short, the two of you had become so close that you forgot that it wouldn’t last more than a month.

“Come to Romulus with me, (Y/N),” he whispered as he moved closer to you. “I want to show you my homeworld. I want to stroll with you on the shores of the Apnex sea, and kiss you next to the firefalls of Gal Gath’thong.”

“I wish I could,” you murmured, resting your forehead against his. “But I don’t know when I’ll have shore leave next.”

“Not just for shore leave,” Bochra’s tone became exultant as he drew back. “For life.”

His words stunned you. You were tempted, to say the least, as the centurion bent his head to kiss your shoulder. Yet, your concern began to show itself.

“What about my job?” you asked, clutching to him as he trailed his lips up your neck. “My liberties? Bochra, we both know full well that humans have very few rights on Romulus.”

It was true, and Bochra knew it. He couldn’t be so selfish as to ask you to sacrifice your rights for love. But he still couldn’t bear the thought of living without you. The idea of disguising you as a Romulan came to mind, yet Bochra did not speak it aloud. He loved what made you human, and wouldn’t have you turned into a ridge-faced, pointy-eared parody.

“I couldn’t ask you to give them up,” Bochra admitted. “But should I go without you, we may never meet again. I do not know where I will be posted next.”

“Then, I suppose that this is goodbye,” the words came from your mouth, though you had been unwilling to make that realization.

“I will not forget you, (Y/N)” Bochra said, pulling you close once more, perhaps for the last time. “I will never love anyone but you.”

“No, no,” you protested. “Bochra, if one day we meet, and you are holding someone else’s hand, it will not matter. Don’t live your life as if I was meant to be your last love. Live it knowing that you can find that love within others, and don’t turn it away when it is given to you. If you do, you don’t know how guilty I’d feel, knowing that you ruined your life in my supposed honour.”

“Y/N…” was all he could say as he kissed you, imparting what he could not say into the feeling of his lips upon yours. As you pulled back, you could not distinguish Bochra’s eyes from the stars behind him, they were both shining so brightly. You pressed one last kiss to his cheek as you picked up your bags and left. Making your way to the shuttle, you turned over your shoulder and saw Bochra watching you. For a moment, you were tempted to rush back to him. But you knew you could not do so, and instead, you walked away.

Vulcans are lowkey terrified of humans, I’m convinced

Can anyone imagine how the Vulcans reacted after Zefram Cochran, successfully tested the first warp drive engine? Like

Solkar: The Humans have achieved warp.

Vulcan High Command: Isn’t that the species that nearly blew themselves to Hell with nuclear weapons a little over a decade ago??!!

Solkar: Don’t ask me! We were conducting routine scans when this human,  using what appears to be a converted Titan II missile, launched himself into space and just went into warp.

Vulcan High Command: …..

Vulcan High Command: Well don’t just stand there! Someone do First Contact before the Klingons or the Romulans get their hands on them!

I’ve been drawing some Star Trek characters lately, all inspired by Modiphius’s Star Trek Adventures rpg. I’ve also been experimenting with digital coloring. The end result is what you see here!
